NOLA Radio: WWL's Scoot, Hit-And-Run Victim

WWL 870 AM / 105.9 FM afternoon personality talker Scott “Scoot” Paisant, is recovering from injuries he suffered after a motorcycle hit him while he walking across Canal Street in New Orleans.

"Scoot’s ok, but he’s recovering from some tough injuries to his body," according to a statement from WWL management. "Scoot was struck, knocked unconscious and left injured by a speeding motorcyclist on Canal Street."

According to the WWL website, New Orleans Police have issued a news released asking for public assistance in finding the hit and run driver of the motorcycle.

Police say the blue motorcycle was accompanied by a red motorcycle traveling in the same direction.

Detectives retrieved some images from surveillance cameras, but due to the speed of the motorcycle and dark conditions, they are not very clear.

As for Scoot's condition, "The above pictures are of Scoot right after being admitted to the hospital and after getting cleaned up.  He did sustain some injuries that will take some time to heal."

A website statement goes on to say:

If you care about Scoot - as so many of us do - you can send prayers and well-wishes to Scoot on our WWL Facebook page.  Scoot also sends a big thank you to the good Samaritans who called 911 and stuck around to help him until EMS came... and to those first responders and doctors at University Medical Center.
