FL Radio: Storm Downs Tower, Three Stations Off-Air

Tuesday's storm damaged a radio tower beyond repair in Marianna in Fklorida's Panhandle, but efforts were underway early Wednesday to rig a temporary fix that would bring the three tower-dependent stations, owned by MFR Inc. back on the air as soon as possible while a permanent fix is underway.

The WJAQ 100.9 FM radio tower in Marianna was snapped nearly in half by strong straight-line winds in Tuesday night's storm, knocking WJAQ and sister stations Oldies WTOT 101.7 FM  and WTOT 980 FM off the air. The radio family's Graceville tower transmits signal to the Marianna tower and the Graceville unit was not damaged, but the Marianna tower lost ability to broadcast.
