SiriusXM Rebrands Opie Radio As Faction Talk

Today SiriusXM announced the debut of Faction Talk, an unpredictable and provocative channel inspired by its punk-infused sister channel, the music and sports-focused Faction (ch. 41). Faction Talk will debut on January 23 on Sirius channel 206 and XM 103.

Formerly known as Opie Radio, the channel will fuse its unique brand of comedy with the edge and energy of the original Faction.

Host and personality Jason Ellis, whose popular Faction show will now air on the new talk channel, joins an all-star lineup of SiriusXM hosts including Gregg “Opie” Hughes, comedian Jim Norton, and Sam Roberts.

Faction Talk’s new daytime lineup of live programming will kick off with Jim Norton and Sam Roberts delivering laughs during the crucial morning drive hours, Jason Ellis at midday, and radio institution Gregg “Opie” Hughes rounding out the day:

  • Jim Norton and Sam Roberts hosted by Jim Norton and Sam Roberts (8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. ET). Jim Norton and Sam Roberts blend the worlds of comedy and professional broadcasting seamlessly every morning on SiriusXM. Current events, pop culture, and original content—radio’s most dynamic duo does it all.
  • The Jason Ellis Show hosted by Jason Ellis (11:00 am – 3:00 p.m. ET). A former pro skateboarder, pro fighter, and New York Times bestselling author, Ellis shares his humorous and irreverent worldviews on the daily program.
  • The Opie Radio Show hosted by Opie (3:00 – 6:00 p.m. ET). Greg “Opie” Hughes along with friends of the show discuss current news, social trends, documentaries, sports, and celebrity guests.
Founded by skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, Faction plays a combination of music by artists such as Pennywise, Dr. Dre, Sublime, Green Day, Beastie Boys and Eminem, and features shows hosted by Tony Hawk, punk legend Marky Ramone, Rancid/Transplants frontman Tim Armstrong and more. Faction will continue to be available on SiriusXM channel 41.
