Jenkins is the first-ever African-American elected to the NMBA Hall of Fame. Her induction is Saturday, June 7, during the annual New Mexico Broadcasters Association convention.
Jenkins began her journalism career in the early '80's at KOB-TV in Albuquerque. For the past 20 years, she has served Albuquerque as morning news anchor on KKOB 770 AM. A native of Cincinnati, Jenkins has won numerous Associated Press and New Mexico Broadcasters Association awards.
Pat Frisch, Operations Manager, Spoken Word Programming, for Cumulus Media Albuquerque said: “Judith Jenkins has served our community and state with outstanding news coverage for more than 30 years. She is a respected journalist who has set the highest journalistic standards over the course of her accomplished career. We congratulate her for this well-deserved distinction.”
