"Road" Reaches Billboard Milestone


Lil Nas X and his inescapable Billy Ray Cyrus western rap collaboration "Old Town Road" locked in Monday a 14th consecutive week atop the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart, a milestone achieved by only 10 songs in six decades.

The 10 songs to spent 14-plus week at No. 1, per Billboard:
  • Sixteen weeks: "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber (2017)
  • Sixteen weeks: "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men (1995) 
  • Fourteen weeks: "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X feat. Billy Ray Cyrus (2019)
  • Fourteen weeks: "Uptown Funk!" by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars (2015) 
  • Fourteen weeks: "I Gotta Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas (2009) 
  • Fourteen weeks:  "We Belong Together" by Mariah Carey (2005)

The song continues to hold steady streaming spins, with Billboard reporting United States listeners giving "OId Town Road" 89.3 million digital plays in the last week. It also scored a 10th week topping the industry publication's Digital Song Sales chart, moving an estimated 57,000 units.


On Radio Songs, where it reached No. 2, "Road" regresses 4-6, with 75.8 million audience impressions, down 8%, in the week ending July 7.
