Doctors were unable to revive the 67-year-old rocker, real name John Thomas Hashian, after he collapsed on Wednesday, while performing on a ship taking tourists on a Caribbean cruise.

His son Adam said his father suddenly collapsed in the middle of his set on the Legends of Rock cruise.

The cruise set sail from Florida on March 18 and also featured Sib's old Boston bandmate Barry Goudreau, original Beach Boys star David Marks and Foreigner singer Lou Gramm.

The ship will reportedly continue on its voyage as planned, with Sib's fellow musicians paying tribute to him with a gig on Thursday.

Known for his characteristic permed hairstyle, Sib joined Boston in 1975 and performed on their famous self-titled 1976 album, which included the hit More Than a Feeling. He left the group in 1983, but still continued to perform with some of his former bandmates up until his death.
