The change comes several years after Davidson County Broadcasting sold "Majic 94-1" to the K-LOVE organization. Station owner and company president Gig Hilton says, "The 'Majic' name was and still is a recognizable brand, which carries the meaning of quality programming."
Station manager Stacy Hilton Vanzant told The Dispatch, "This is an opportunity for us to provide the best product possible for our listeners and advertisers."
WLXN has updated its classic hits format to offer more up-tempo music via Tom Kent Radio Network. The changeover to the new format was completed in mid-October.
The "24/7 Fun" format features Kent, a native of Winston-Salem. He has worked as a disc jockey and in programming at radio stations in Winston-Salem, Dallas, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Miami, Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh and at the legendary WLS in Chicago.
