The Southern California Broadcasters Association (SCBA) reported today outstanding October 2014 revenue results for both the Los Angeles and San Diego markets. According to Miller Kaplan Arase’s October summary report, The LA market posted local spot increases of 3% with national spot at a 5.7% increase. San Diego posted a 1.3% local spot increase with national spot growth at 18.0%. Total market revenue for LA was at 7.1% and San Diego at 8.8% for October.
Our entire Southern California Region produced a very robust October as the critical 4th quarter began,” said SCBA President Thom Callahan. “The sluggish Q3 performance we had is a distant memory as advertisers once again looked to SoCal Radio for increased market share and real revenue results.”
In addition to very positive gains in local and national spot revenue from both SoCal markets, NTR/Network/Other revenue soared in October by 62.9% for LA and 26.3% for San Diego. Total market revenue YTD is at -2.2% for Los Angeles and 2.9% for San Diego.
“Our combined market growth in October should set the stage for a dramatic and positive finish for Q4 and 2014. Our members’ efforts to provide proactive solutions to client challenges really came together in October,” said Callahan. “We see enormous positive energy in our markets and our continued regional focus on Radio’s ROI is making a difference for all of our member sales teams.”
