Affiliates Can Expect Name Change For WSJ This Morning
As Compass Media Networks prepares to launch a replacements show for the ending Wall Street Journal This Morning, some changes are becoming obvious.
Yes, Gordon Deal remains as host of the popular finacial news show currently carried on some 250 affiliates. However, a name change is coming.
Compass will not use the Wall Street Journal brand for the program, instead the show name will be shortened to "This Morning". And the program will also have to make do without the vast resources of The Wall Street Journal itself. That could mean an end to Deal's conversations with the Journal’s reporters, editors and experts.
What will continues is a live feed of the program weekday mornings starting at 5am with updates until 9am. It appears the Saturday program will also continue.
Of course, operational details of the new program, such as studios and satellitte distribution, will continue to evolve as Compasss readies a the start for the first of 2015.
