Albany Radio: R.I.P. Longtime Radio Exec Bob Ausfeld

Albany Boradcasting General Manager Bob Ausfeld died Sunday night, from complications following heart transplant surgery last week.

Over the past three decades, Ausfeld has led several area radio stations, including the former "K-Lite," WKLI 100.9 FM; rock station WPYX 106.5 FM, better known as PYX 106; and country powerhouse WGNA 107.7 FM.

Ausfeld left Townsqauare Media in late 2011 and began working as the general manager for Albany Broadcasting shortly after.

Bob Ausfeld has had heart issues for the past 15 years, but about two years ago it got bad enough to warrant a heart pump. He has been on the transplant list for the past two years, traveling to Boston every few weeks for testing and for adjustments to the heart pump.
