Houston Radio: Fred Davis OUT At KILT-AM

Fred Davis
Fred Davis, co-host of KILT 610 AM's nighttime sports talk show with former NFL linebacker Ted Johnson, is no longer with the station, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Ryan McCredden, program director of the CBS Radio station, confirmed that Davis is no longer with the station but declined to give details. Davis’ name was removed over the weekend from KILT’s website.

McCredden said KILT hosts Paul Gallant, Patrick Creighton and Brien Straw will fill the vacancy alongside Johnson while the station searches for a replacement for Davis.

Davis was paired in 2012 with Barry Warner on KILT’s nighttime show. Johnson replaced Warner in April 2013.

Davis said his dismissal resulted from a complaint from a listener that was forwarded to the station and, apparently, to federal regulators.

“They (the complainant) thought said something that I said was indecent to them,” he said. “There was one person so offended by something that was said during a male-dominated sports show at 7:40 p.m. on a Wednesday.”

  1. This is ludicrous 610. This guy is hilarious and quick-witted. He made the evening show. Your listenership will decline
