Chicago Radio: CCM+E Names Kenard Karter PD At WGCI

Kenard Karter
Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Chicago has announced Kenard "K2" Karter as new  program director at its R&B-formatted WGCI-107.5 FM.

The appointment is effective March 3, 2014.

Karter is returning to the Chicago radio market after a four-year tenure at R&B-formatted KMEL 106.1 FM in San Francisco, where he most recently served as assistant program director and a midday personality on the station.

WGCI 107.5 FM 54dBu Coverage
A Chicago native, Karter began his radio career in his hometown 10 years ago and held several radio jobs in the Chicago market, including on-air personality and promotions assistant at WGCI and music director at both WGCI and Clear Channel's KISS 103.5 FM.

Karter replaces Kris Kelley, who was forced out in December after 15 years with the company. Kelley’s other position as program director of pop contemporary-hit radio WKSC 103.5 FM has been taken over by Tommy Austin, vVP/programming for Clear Channel Chicago.
