Norfolk Radio: No Joke! WTAR To Drop All Comedy Format

Sinclair Communications is giving-up on the all-comedy format in Norfolk.

The reason?

Lack of ad support, for its WTAR 850 AM.  The station had been using Premier's Comedy feed since June 2011.

The station is expected to flip to a mix of news, sports and talk starting Jan. 27.

Morning personality Tony Macrini at clustermate WNIS 790 AM Norfolk made the announcement.

    That is really a shame. I loved Comedy 850, so did my hubby and lots of the guys from EOD Mobile Unit 12.
