Twin Cities Radio: Jason Matheson Leaves TV For My Talk

Jason Matheson is leaving KMSP-TV Fox 9 to focus on the radio show he co-hosts at KTMY My Talk 107.1 FM, which will be moving from early afternoons to morning drive, according to bizjournals.com.

Matheson has been at Fox 9 since 2000, when he joined the station as executive producer of "The Buzz," a long-running entertainment show.

He now co-anchors the "Fox 9 Morning News" and hosts the "The Fox 9 Buzz" and "The Weekend Buzz."

In addition to his Fox 9 duties, Matheson has been on "The Jason & Alexis Show" on My Talk 107.1 FM weekdays from noon to 3 p.m. for the past four years.

He and co-host Alexis Thompson now will move to the 5:30-9 a.m. time slot, where they will replace the husband-and-wife team of Ian and Margery Punnett. (Ian left the station in December to focus on health issues.)

Matheson's last day at Fox 9 will be Feb. 28. Then his new time slot at My Talk will begin on March 4.
