Audacy Philadelphia’s WOGL (BIG 98.1) has raised $241,253 for the Child Life, Education and Creative Arts Therapy Department at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) with its 23rd annual “BIG 98.1 Loves Our Kids Radiothon.”
Proceeds from the radiothon go towards highly trained CHOP staff – the Child Life Specialists who offer tailored care and support to children and families facing illness, injury, or hospitalization. These services include age-appropriate preparation, education, therapeutic play, creative arts therapies, and more.
“Child Life Specialists at CHOP are the real heroes, comforting kids when they need it most. They’re like best friends to the patients and a lifesaver for the parents. We’re proud to use our platform to support them,” said David Yadgaroff, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Philadelphia. “The ‘BIG 98.1 Loves Our Kids Radiothon’ is a special event for us and our community. We couldn’t do it without the amazing support of our listeners and advertisers.”
The “BIG 98.1 Loves Our Kids Radiothon” was hosted by morning show host Coop, who talked to patients, their families, CHOP staff and an array of co-hosts, including talent from sister stations at WBEB-FM (B101) (WBEB-FM ), WIP-FM (Sports Radio 94WIP) and KYW Newsradio (103.9 FM / 1060 AM) about the miracles that happen every day at CHOP. The event was broadcast live from Audacy corporate headquarters in Philadelphia on December 5 and 6.
