Alex Quigley |
According To Chicagoland Radio&Media, his on-air duties on WGWG-LP/The Game 87.7 will also come to an end on December 31st, meaning that all of Quigley's jobs at WGN Radio will be ending this month, leaving him effectively done with both stations.
Monday it was announced to the staff that Quigley's job as Operations Manager is eliminated. Todd Manley, WGN Radio Vice President of Content & Programming will now take over most of Quigley's duties. Producer Stephanie Mendez, who was recently promoted to Programming Coordinator, will also absorb some of the duties.
After that, he will be just one of many fill-in hosts for WGN-AM, asked to pinch hit occasionally when the main hosts are on vacation. But he will no longer be an employee of WGN Radio or Tribune Broadcasting.
Prior to joining WGN-AM, Quigley was best known in Chicago as one of the top rock jocks at WKQX-FM/Q101, working various shifts for the station on and off for nine years. In the middle of his Q101 tour of duty, Quigley spent two years working at KRFR-FM in Bakersfield, CA as Program Director and drive time DJ. He finally exited WKQX-FM in 2009, joining WGN-AM in 2010 as a part-time weekend talk show host.
