The Central New York radio community is mourning the loss of
longtime radio broadcaster and college professor Vincent Spadafora, the man
killed in a car accident Friday in Durhamville, NY.
He was 65.
According to WKTV, Spadafora worked for various radio
stations throughout his career, including calling high school sports in Oneida,
and taught radio broadcasting and electronic media community at Onondaga
Community College for nearly 40 years.
New York State Police say that Spadafora was killed on Route
31, when he drove off the side of the road and was later pronounced dead at the
hospital.
According to his obituary, Spadafora is also a Vietnam
veteran serving two tours of duty with the American Force Vietnam Network.
Spadafora, known as "Spaddy," is survived by his
wife, four children and a son-in-law, two grandchildren and five siblings.
