Syndicated Westwood One radio host Dan Bongino is missing in action from the airwaves for week two as he continues his “ugly” fight with parent company Cumulus Media over the company’s vaccine mandate.
Bongino’s show is currently in 'Best off.." mode. The live shows ended last week.
There are things that need to be talked about right now,” a station manager told Radio Ink. “Week old news is past its freshness date. Trying to sound current by discussing things two weeks old is worse than trying to stay up-to-date by reading a newspaper.”
Sources reportedly say Bongino “chose” not to do the radio show while he and Cumulus battle . Bongino told the company two weeks ago that he would quit unless Cumulus rescinded its vaccination mandate.“Vaccine mandates are setting the country on fire,” Bongino said on his Monday podcast, which is separate from his live show. “My battle with Cumulus continues. We will not be on the air again today. It goes on. It’s been getting really ugly.”
The host also indicated that there are more dimensions to his battle.
“This is not a sob story. I’m not a snowflake like the Left, but I’m dealing with a lot right now,” Bongino said. “I’ve got like a 30-front fight going on. This fight with Cumulus is one of them.”
While vaccinated himself, Bongino vehemently opposes mandates, which he says violate bodily autonomy and are a way for the government to exert more control over individuals.
“This is not about the vaccine,” he said Monday. “Candidly, ladies and gentlemen, it’s not even about science. This is about control. It has always been about control,” reports The Washington Examiner.
