R.I.P.: Darrin Arriens, OM At Entercom-Charlotte

Veteran radio programmer Darrin Arriens, Director of Operations for Entercom Charlotte, and PD of Hot AC WLNK 107.9 The Link died Tuesday morning from complications from a battle with the COVID-19 virus.

Arriens enjoyed a 30 year broadcasting career that saw him programming across multiple formats.

He was also program director at Country KSKS 93.7 Fresno and  Hot AC WGYL (The Breeze 93.7), West Palm Beach Florida. He was program director fro KKMG (Magic FM) and sister classic rocker at KKFM in Colorado Springs.

He went on to be program director for Rocker at WKLQ in Grand Rapids and music director at the top 40 WJIM in Lansing among others including program director at WRIF Detroit and WLZR Milwaukee.

Arriens was also an award winner of the Marconi Award for Medium Market Station Of The Year, 2008.

He had also served as a Regional Director of Operations for Citadel Broadcasting, overseeing 55 stations in the Midwest.
