"The station is comfortable with that (decision) and I am too," Francesa said on air Tuesday afternoon.
There had been speculation that The Sports Pope would stay on after Carton was suspended indefinitely. The former co-host of the "Boomer and Carton" show was arrested by FBI agents on Sept. 6 for allegedly duping investors out of $5.6 million in a ticket resale scam to cover enormous gambling debts, according to authorities.
A week later, the shock jock — who has maintained his innocence — resigned.
Although Francesa admitted there were "conversations" about potentially staying on, his leaving "as scheduled is something we decided to do."

CBS wound up offering Francesa a one-year deal to stay past Dec. 15, a source told the NYDaily News' Bob Raissman.
