WRKO 680 AM host Howie Carr imitated a Native American war whoop while speaking at a Donald Trump rally in Bangor, Maine on Wednesday, joining the presumptive Republican nominee in ostracizing Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren’s claims of Native American heritage.
According to boston.com, the Boston-based Carr is no fan of Warren: he has spoken out against her in multiple editorials, and sells “Fauxcahontas” t-shirts on his website.
On Wednesday, he brought her name into the conversation while mentioning her campaigning efforts for presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
“I heard Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren campaigning. You know Elizabeth Warren, right?” Carr said, as the crowd booed and shouted. Carr then put his hand over his mouth and imitated a war whoop.
Carr’s insults come after several weeks of fiery comments from Trump, who has called Warren “Pocahontas” and repeatedly questioned her self-proclaimed Native American heritage. The issue has faced extensive investigation and media coverage over the last several years.
