"The Rise Guys" program, a fixture on morning radio on 1140 AM KHTK in Sacramento for 12 years, is moving to San Francisco.

The show – which has featured former Bee sports columnist Mark Kreidler, Kevin "Whitey" Gleason and Mark Lowe ("Phantom") in recent years – last aired on KHTK on Tuesday, according to Steve Cottingim, senior vice president of CBS Radio Sacramento, which operates KHTK.

According to a story by Tom Couzens at sacbee.com, only Kreidler and Gleason will move with the show to SportsRadio 95.7 FM KBWF, which broadcasts the A's and Sharks. The program will air in the 6-10 a.m. slot starting Aug. 1.

Joining them will be Dan Dibley, who came to Sports-Radio 95.7FM in June from KNBR (680 AM), where he was a producer for morning programming.

Lowe will remain with KHTK, Cottingim said, although his new role has not been finalized.

Don Geronimo
Barrett said SportsRadio 95.7FM stuck with "The Rise Guys" name because "it's a great name for a morning show, and the hosts are comfortable with it. So why change?"

Veteran radio host Don Geronimo, who joined KHTK a year ago, will replace "The Rise Guys" in the 5:30-10 a.m. slot beginning Monday. Geronimo, who also became the station's program director in May, had hosted a noon-4 p.m. show.

With Geronimo's move to the morning, the "Carmichael Dave Show" will air from noon until 3 p.m. beginning Monday.
