CNN has announced a refreshed programming schedule for its domestic FAST (free, ad-supported streaming television) channel, CNN Headlines.
The updated lineup includes:
- CNN Headline Express: A live news program airing at 7 AM, 11 AM, and 5 PM ET, hosted by Brad Smith, who joined CNN in July 2025. It covers the latest national and international news, sports, entertainment, business, and culture.
- ICYMI (In Case You Missed It): Airing at 10 AM, 3 PM, 8 PM, and 11 PM ET, this show features the most newsworthy and compelling stories from CNN’s U.S. programming.
- American Pulse: Broadcast at 2 PM, 4 PM, and 9 PM ET, this hour-long program highlights reporting from CNN’s extensive network of affiliates across the country.
The relaunch aims to enhance CNN’s digital reach with live and original content, moving beyond its previous format of mostly repurposed cable network clips.
Eric Sherling, Executive Vice President of U.S. Programming for CNN Worldwide, emphasized the strategic importance of the relaunch, leveraging CNN’s affiliate network and timely updates to complement its existing cable offerings.
CNN Headlines is accessible for free on CNN.com, the CNN app, and connected TV platforms like Roku, Amazon Prime Video, and Pluto TV, though distribution remains limited (e.g., not yet on Apple TV). This move is part of CNN’s broader digital strategy, including a planned subscription streaming service and a new CNN Weather app.
