Cumulus and Westwood One have announced they will provide exclusive audio coverage from the Westwood One Backstage at the AMAs Radio Row on Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22, leading up to the 2014 American Music Awards.
The event is being held on Sunday, November 23 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California and broadcast LIVE at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC. The 2014 AMAs, hosted by Pitbull, will showcase the year’s hottest and biggest music stars with performances by Taylor Swift, Iggy Azalea, Mary J. Blige, Garth Brooks, Fergie, 5 Seconds of Summer, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and One Direction.
During this special backstage event, Westwood One will debut its Red Carpet Radio brand. Red Carpet Radio is the umbrella platform for the company’s exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage of year-round entertainment award shows. Red Carpet Radio brings red carpet moments to life, offering broadcast partners and advertisers access to live broadcasts, exclusive content, celebrities, backstage performances, social media buzz, and parties and events.

Backstage at the AMAs Radio Row is two days of live broadcasts with 25 radio stations from across the country representing multiple formats, with an array of hosts, presenters, and performers mingling backstage. In addition to affiliated stations Backstage at the AMAs, several Cumulus and Westwood One programs and personalities will be broadcasting Live from Radio Row, including NASH Nights Live, Zach Sang & The Gang, The Bert Show, NASH/America’s Morning Show, and Nights Live with Adam Bomb. Cumulus partners Rdio, Music Choice, and Benztown will help to expand the audience reach of the event. Grainger is a sponsor of Westwood One’s Backstage at the AMAs.
Westwood One will create original content leading up to and including the day of the big event, which will run on more than 150 radio stations across multiple formats in markets as diverse as Detroit, Dallas, Salt Lake City, New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans. On Sunday, Westwood One showcases live original content from the event itself. “Live from the Red Carpet” is a two-hour special airing from 6-8 pm, ET followed by “Live from Backstage at the AMAs,” a three-hour special that will air from 8-11 pm ET.
