ESPN Anchor Escapes Serious Injury As Set Collapses

ESPN Colombia anchor and reporter Carlos Orduz said he is OK after he was seen getting crushed by a falling piece of the studio’s set on live TV on Tuesday night.

“I want to tell you that I am fine,” Orduz said in a videotaped statement he shared after the incident.

Orduz was sitting along a desk with at least five others during an ESPN FC Radio program when a piece of the set behind him broke off and landed on him. Orduz’s face was thrust into the desk and loud crash could be heard over the broadcast.

Cameras quickly diverted to a single shot on the host, who took the show into break.

Before the program cut out, another co-anchor was heard in the background telling Orduz to stay calm.

The clip of the accident continued to make rounds on Wednesday, which prompted Orduz to release another statement, assuring he was indeed OK.
