Springfield MA Radio: WACM Flips To Oldies

After 25-years of programming Hispanice music WACM 1490 AM in Springfield, MA has flipped to Oldies.

As of last week the station, part of the Davidson Media Group with offices in West Springfield, was transformed into an English-language music station featuring Oldies from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, according to program director Melvin Sanchez.

WACM is simulcasting on WXCT 990 AM (2500 Watts-D, 80 watts-N) in Hartford, CT.

The change will not affect the media group's other Spanish-language station Power WSPR 1270 AM.

"Right now WSPR is doing well and WACM is not doing well because we are targeting the same audience," Sanchez said.
