Altanta Radio: Personality Sues Ex-Cop Who Tased Her

An Atlanta radio personality has sued a former Atlanta police officer for his actions following a routine traffic stop in October 2018, reports WSB Radio.

Ori Montague
Qri Montague, a producer for Hot 107.9, said she was pulled over by then-Officer Lemuel Gardner for not signaling while changing lanes on I-20. She alleges that Gardner cuffed her outside the car and instructed her not to move while he checked her license and registration.

Montague said she moved only to change shirts. The one she was wearing featured the Hot 107.9 logo and Montague said she didn’t want to embarrass her employer if police ended up taking a mugshot.

For that, Montague said she was stunned with a Taser.

Her civil rights lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court on Friday, accuses Gardner of violating Atlanta Police Department regulations requiring officers to wear city-issued body cameras that are fully operational. The lawsuit states that Gardner turned off the camera to hide his encounter with Montague.
