Winter Horton Named COO at Meruelo Media

Winter Horton
Meruelo Media has hired Winter Horton as Chief Operating Officer. He joins Meruelo Media from LBI Media, where he was also COO.

Horton left LBI media on August 23, after more than 22 years with the company that launched the Estrella TV network and acquired multiple radio stations in California and Texas under his watch.

He starts his new role on Tuesday, September 3.

He will be based out of the Meruelo Media Burbank studios and report directly to CEO Otto Padron.

Horton joins a company that is expanding its operations. Meruelo Media, which got its start with the acquisition of KWHY-22, has been branching out into radio. It bought several radio stations in the Los Angeles area, including KPWR “Power 106 FM” in 2017 and 95.5 KLOS and 93.9 KXOS earlier this year.

Last month, Meruelo Media hired another LBI Media executive, Mariano Amador, as GSM of the reformatted Cali 93.9 (KLLI-FM Los Angeles).
