Charlotte Radio: WBT Collects 33K Jars Of PB

Entercom collected over 33,000 jars of peanut butter to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, setting a new record in total donations. Charlotte station News Talk WBT 1110 AM & 99.3 FM 9th annual “WBT Peanut Butter N July Food Drive” took place at Harris Teeter locations in the Charlotte area.

Throughout the drive, shoppers at participating Harris Teeter stores had the option to virtually add a jar of peanut butter to their shopping cart at checkout. WBT morning drive host Bo Thompson and afternoon drive host John Hancock broadcast live on site at participating Harris Teeter stores to promote the drive.

“This program is important to the entire WBT listening family,” said Matthew Hanlon, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Charlotte. “I’m proud of our community’s efforts in supporting the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina’s selfless mission.”

Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (SHFBM) strives through education, advocacy and partnerships to eliminate hunger by the solicitation and distribution of food. SHFBM has been in existence since 1981.
