Detroit Radio: WCSX-FM Helps Miss Rodeo USA Contestant

Beasley Media Group announces WCSX 94.7 FM Big Jim’s House recently contributed funds to help cover travel expenses for a Michigan Rodeo Queen to attend the Miss USA Rodeo Competition.

Khalilah Smith is a sophomore at Michigan State University who recently received the distinction as the school’s first black rodeo queen at the 49th annual Spartan Stampede Rodeo. As a result, she will be heading out west to represent the “Motor City” on a national level in the 2019 Miss Rodeo USA competition.

Big Jim’s House Morning Co-host Erin V. featured Khalilah recently interviewed Smith on her “Women Who Rock” weekly on-air feature and offered to help Khalilah on her journey to winning the title by giving her $250 to go towards helping to pay for her travel expenses to enable her to compete in the Rodeo.

“It was our honor to be able to support Khalilah on her journey to compete in the “Miss Rodeo USA competition,” said Big Jim’s House co-host Erin V. “She is an extraordinary young woman who doesn’t even realize how significant her success is to the community. I am proud to share her story and continue her goal of inspiring other young women to chase their dreams. We at WCSX wish Khalilah the very best in her journey for the title.”
