NYC Radio: WABC Adds Syndicated Chris Plante Show

Talk Radio WABC 770 AM announces the addition of The Chris Plante Show to its weekday lineup, debuting Monday, April 2nd.

Plante’s show is nationally syndicated by Westwood One, and will air on 77 WABC Monday through Friday from 10am-12 Noon. The show replaces The Bernie and Sid Show, which moves to Mornings on 77 WABC on Monday, April 2nd.

Plante, who broadcasts live from WMAL studios in Washington, DC, is well known to the New York audience, having been assigned to the Pentagon covering the U.S. military and intelligence community for CNN. Plante received the Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio and Television News Directors’ Association (RTNDA) for his reporting from the Pentagon during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

The Chris Plante Show is a fast-paced and entertaining program that brings listeners the inside word on the day’s top news stories with Plante’s razor-sharp insight, sense of humor and gift for storytelling. The show is informed by Plante’s 17 years covering breaking news, the Pentagon and national security issues from Washington, DC. He formerly hosted his own program on the American Life television network, and makes frequent appearances on cable news networks including the FOX News Channel, CNN and MSNBC.

Representing the third generation of his family that has been “on-the-air” in radio and television in New York City, Plante brings a unique world-view and largely conservative/libertarian values to his role as talk show host on 77 WABC. Marching in lockstep with no politician, Plante says his political party is “Practi-crat”, “…because of my distinctly practical political leanings.”

Plante said: “As any school child knows, as a broadcaster, if you could choose one radio station in one market in the English-speaking world, it would be WABC in New York. I’m honored to join the team.”
