Tulsa Radio: Tina Commodore Named Integrated N-D For Cox

Cox Media Group (CMG) has named Tina Commodore Integrated News Director for the converged Tulsa market. In her new role, she will drive news content for trusted TV and radio brands, including FOX 23 News and News 102.3 and AM740 KRMG.

“This new role will be responsible for integrating two powerful news brands across all platforms,” said Cathy Gunther, CMG Market Vice President for Tulsa, Okla. “Tina is a talented leader and will have a unique opportunity to take a fresh look at the way we gather and cover news across our Radio, TV and digital platforms in Tulsa.”

Commodore joined FOX 23 as News Director in November 2016. The FOX affiliate ranks as the No. 1 local news station among Adults 25-54 and has a strong presence across multiple platforms, including Facebook and Twitter.

“There are certain traits all great leaders have, which Tina Commodore continues to display vis-à-vis CMG Tulsa News,” said Levi May, NEWS102.3 & AM740 KRMG Director of Branding & Programming. “Tina is the right leader to advance our incredible integrated news product in Tulsa.”

Prior to joining CMG Tulsa, Commodore served as Managing Editor for WSB-TV in Atlanta, Ga. In that role, she helped lead daily operation of the newsroom and coverage of breaking news events. She also has served as Manager of Coverage and Content for the award-winning station.

Commodore is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists, and she has an extensive background in news broadcasting. She also volunteers for a number of organizations, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated.
