Milwaukee Radio: WTMJ Presents Conversation On Anthem Protests

WTMJ 620 AM today presents a Community Conversation on the controversy surrounding player protests during the National Anthem at NFL games on Thursday, September 28 from 4pm-5pm.

This uninterrupted one-hour special will create a forum for listeners and community leaders to talk about the protests, the NFL’s reaction and the view of the fans.  The conversation will lead directly into WTMJ Radio pregame coverage of the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field.

“The protests by NFL players during the National Anthem have sparked debate and raised awareness of the issues of social justice in the country,” said Eric Brooks, WTMJ director of programming and news. “WTMJ Radio is the flagship station of the Green Bay Packers and the de facto town hall for the state of Wisconsin.  We feel it’s our duty to provide a high-profile place for all sides of the conversation to be heard.”

WTMJ’s hosts John Mercure and Melissa Barclay will moderate the special.  The special will be carried on-air, streamed at wtmj.com and through “Facebook Live” at Facebook.com/620wtmj.
