IL Radio: Illinois State Athletics, WJBC Agree On New 5-Year Deal

Illinois State Athletics and Learfield’s Redbird Sports Properties have agreed to a new five-year partnership with WJBC 1230 AM and 93.7 NASH Icon.

As the flagship radio stations to the Illinois State Athletic Department, WJBC AM 1230 and WJBC  93.7 FM NASH Icon will provide live clearance of all Redbird football and men’s basketball games in the greater Bloomington-Normal area. In addition, fans will hear all ISU women’s basketball game broadcasts and football and basketball coaches’ shows on WJBC AM.

“Illinois State Athletics is thrilled to continue our relationship with WJBC to broadcast football and basketball games to our loyal Redbird fans,” Illinois State Director of Athletics Larry Lyons said.

“We are proud to continue with the heritage and tradition of WJBC AM 1230 and excited to be adding 93.7 NASH Icon to the mix. These are two trusted and well-respected radio stations in Bloomington-Normal. Having both AM and FM radio coverage airing Redbird sports throughout Central Illinois will be valuable for ISU fans.”

“Radio Bloomington-Cumulus is proud to continue our relationship with Redbird Athletics,” said Paula Williams, Market Manager Radio Bloomington-Cumulus. “We are very pleased to be working with Learfield’s Redbird Sports Properties and look forward to broadcasting ISU Athletic events for many years to come.”

The partnership between Illinois State Athletics and Radio Bloomington-Cumulus is managed by Redbird Sports Properties, a property of Learfield, which oversees all aspects related to Illinois State Athletics’ multi-media rights, including the Redbird Sports Network.
