iHR Music Awards Return March 29

The second iHeartRadio Music Awards will air March 29 (NBC, 8 p.m. ET/PT) from Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium.

The three-hour, performance-heavy ceremony honors the biggest artists and songs of the past year, as determined by the iHeartRadio music chart and fans nationwide, according to a release.

Last May, he telecast drew an audience of more than 5.5 million viewers, with more than 65 million votes cast by fans on Twitter and Facebook.

"It shows that fans of iHeartRadio really wanted an awards show that spoke to them. so what we learned from last year is that if you can truly get close to the tastes and the favorite artists of music fans, the better that you'll do," says John Sykes, president of entertainment enterprises at iHeartMedia Inc. Add to the fact that the show is moving from Thursday to a more audience-friendly time slot on Sunday, and "it's a big vote of confidence from last year," Sykes says.

This spring's awards will broadcast live simultaneously on iHeartMedia stations across the USA, as well as on the iHeartRadio digital music platform.
