Lori Lewis Elected Board Chair For The Conclave

Lori Lewis
The Conclave Board of Directors has unanimously elected Lori Lewis, Director of Digital & Social Strategies for Jacobs Media, as the new Board Chairperson for the nonprofit Conclave. Lewis, will begin her position immediately, succeeding outgoing Board Chair Mark Bolke, who has served in the position since July 2009 and in various capacities for Conclave since 2003.

On her new role with the Conclave, Lewis commented, “There are those who complain about the scarcity of young people interested in working in radio, and then there are those who actually do something about it. Conclave has always been the one organization vetting, nurturing, and celebrating youth in radio. It is the greatest strength of this institution and I am honored to help see Conclave into its 40th year. Conclave has an incredible working board, and together we will ensure that #Conclave40 is new, fresh, and exciting for all that love this storied event.”

Bolke said on his decision to step down, "Beyond being an obvious upgrade, the election of Lori Lewis as the Chairperson of the Conclave signifies the board's commitment to moving the mission of the organization forward. Lori is such a respected industry leader, and her perspective benefits the Conclave tremendously. She gets it and I am thrilled with her appointment as Chairperson. Broadcasting's need for an organization like the Conclave is greater than ever. I will continue to contribute where I can moving forward.”

Lewis’ radio career spans 25 years, starting out as an on-air talent with the nationally syndicated show, "Bubba the Love Sponge," to a decorated Program Director in Baltimore. In a move to help radio grow digitally and socially, Lewis left day to day programming and created a new position Director of Digital and Social Strategies for Duke Wright’s Midwest Communications. In 2011, consulting firm Jacobs Media hired Lewis to assist their client’s digital and social needs.
