Boston Radio: Herald Morning Show Debuts On WMEX

Adriana Cohen, Tom Shattuck
“Boston Herald Drive” hits the air on WMEX 1510 AM today, bringing local morning news and talk to radio for the first time in years.

Hosts Adriana Cohen and Tom Shattuck, backed up by the Herald newsroom, will cover all the breaking news of the day — and provide instant analysis and interviews.

“We’ve always been straight with our audience,” said Shattuck, executive producer of Boston Herald Radio. “This is the city of Jerry Williams, Gene Burns and David Brudnoy. We are lucky enough now to have an opportunity to be custodians of those same airwaves and we will do it humbly, tirelessly and with the utmost respect for the listener.”

“Boston Herald Drive” will air each weekday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. with Shattuck, a Winchester native, and Cohen, a Boston Herald political columnist, Fox News regular and longtime Concord resident, in the studio.

The Herald’s radio news team, led by news anchor Matt Fitzgerald and sports anchor Tyler Sullivan, will keep listeners on top of the latest developments with feeds from Herald reporters.

“Media who simply recite the ‘live and local’ mantra aren’t cutting it. ‘Boston Herald Drive’ will deliver with hosts who are from here and reporters who cover the news that is happening here right now, in real time,” said Herald Editor-in-Chief Joe Sciacca. “The power of our multimedia reporting combined with the 50,000 watts of WMEX makes this new morning show an instant must-listen.”

WMEX President Kevin Wallis said, “ ‘Boston Herald Drive’ will be entertaining and informative, new and innovative.”
