TV Ratings: FNC Leads All Nets During Primetime


FOX News Channel (FNC) led all broadcast networks in weekday primetime during the week of August 18 with 2.9 million viewers, leading NBC (2.3 million viewers), CBS (2.2 million viewers) and ABC (2.1 million viewers), continuing its run as the summer’s most-watched television network. 

In Monday-Sunday primetime, FNC drew 2.4 million viewers and 250,000 in the 25-54 demo. In Monday - Sunday total day (6 AM-6 AM/ET), FNC posted 1.5 million viewers and 171,000 in the 25-54 demo leading all of cable. FNC saw week-over-week gains across the board. The network commanded 66% of the primetime and 64% of the total day cable news audience and delivered 98 of the top 100 weekly cable news telecasts. 


In weekday primetime, FNC has been the most-watched network in primetime since Memorial Day Weekend and the start of Summer on June 20. Since Memorial Day FNC has averaged 2.9 million viewers in weekday primetime surpassing ABC (2.6 million viewers), NBC (2.5 million viewers) and CBS (2.1 million viewers).

 Since June 20, FNC has drawn 2.8 million viewers in weekday primetime leading NBC (2.5 million viewers), CBS (2.1 million viewers) and ABC (2 million viewers).

During the week of August 18, The Five averaged 3.5 million viewers and 359,000 in the 25-54 demo, leading cable news in all categories. At 6 PM/ET, Special Report with Bret Baier drew 2.6 million viewers and 261,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Ingraham Angle saw 2.4 million viewers and 234,000 in the 25-54 demo at 7 PM/ET. Jesse Watters Primetime commanded 3 million viewers and 296,000 in the 25-54 demo at 8 PM/ET. At 9 PM/ET, Hannity posted 2.7 million viewers and 275,000 with A25-54. 

While the broadcast late-night shows are on summer vacation, Gutfeld! averaged 3 million viewers and 355,000 in the 25-54 demo. At 11 PM/ET, FOX News @ Night secured 1.5 million viewers and 214,000 in the 25-54 demo. FNC continued to see its daytime programs outpace the broadcast competition. 

The Will Cain Show (weekdays, 4 PM/ET; 1,992,000 viewers), America’s Newsroom (weekdays, 9-11 AM/ET; 1,869,000 viewers), Outnumbered (weekdays, 12 PM/ET; 1,865,000 viewers), America Reports (weekdays, 1-3 PM/ET; 1,854,000 viewers), The Faulkner Focus (weekdays, 11 AM/ET; 1,821,000 viewers) and The Story (weekdays, 3 PM/ET; 1,809,000 viewers) all led NBC’s Today Third Hour (1,650,000 viewers) and ABC’s GMA3 (1,174,000 viewers).


On Saturday:
FOX News Live (Saturday, 10 AM - 2 PM/ET) drew 1.4 million viewers and 153,000 in the 25-54 demo leading cable news in both categories. Life, Liberty & Levin (weekends, 8 PM/ET) was most-watched in primetime with 1.3 million viewers. My View with Lara Trump delivered 1.2 million viewers at 9 PM/ET. 

On Sunday: Maria Bartiromo’s Sunday Morning Futures (Sunday 10 AM/ET) was the top show of the weekend with 1.7 million viewers and 168,000 in the 25-54 demo. Trey Gowdy’s Sunday Night in America (Sunday, 9 PM/ET) was the most-watched show in primetime with 1.6 million viewers and 145,000 in the 25-54 demo. Life, Liberty & Levin (weekends, 8 PM/ET) followed with 1.4 million viewers.

“World News Tonight with David Muir” stood as the No. 1 program in Total Viewers (6.916 million) on all of broadcast and cable during the week of Aug. 18, 2025, based on Live+Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” has been the No. 1 most-watched program on television for 15 weeks in a row (with and without sports).
  • “World News Tonight” ranked as the No. 1 newscast across broadcast and cable in Total Viewers (6.916 million), Adults 25-54 (838,000) and Adults 18-49 (569,000).
  • “World News Tonight” outperformed “NBC Nightly News” (5.665 million, 792,000 and 496,000, respectively) by 1.251 million Total Viewers, by 46,000 Adults 25-54 and by 73,000 Adults 18-49.
  • “World News Tonight” (6.916 million, 838,000 and 569,000, respectively) beat “CBS Evening News” (3.775 million, 478,000 and 336,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+83%/+3.141 million), Adults 25-54 (+75%/+360,000) and Adults 18-49 (+69%/+233,000).

  • Season to date, “World News Tonight” (7.628 million) is ranking No. 1 in Total Viewers for the 9th consecutive year, based on Most Current Data. “World News Tonight” is leading “NBC Nightly News” (6.065 million) by 1.573 million and “CBS Evening News” (4.203 million) by 3.425 million. In fact, “World News Tonight” is growing its Total Viewer lead over NBC compared to the same point last season (+24% – 1.573 million vs. 1.271 million) to its largest in 30 years — since the 1994-1995 season. In addition, “World News Tonight” is increasing its Total Viewer season margin versus “CBS Evening News” by 11% (3.425 million vs. 3.084 million) to its largest in 5 years — since the 2019-2020 season.

  • Nightly News ranks #1 in A25-54 on Wednesday with 833,000 viewers 
  • Nightly News is the only evening newscast to grow in total viewers and A25-54 vs. last year and the only evening newscast to increase A25-54 viewers vs. last week 
  • Nightly News marks its closest across-the-board gaps vs. ABC since Llamas began as anchor, narrowing all by double digits vs. last year 
  • Nightly News is the #2 most-watched show of the week with 5.7 million total viewers (LS, excluding specials, sports & syndication)

“Good Morning America” ranked as the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers (2.565 million) during the week of Aug. 18, 2025, based on Live+Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.
  • “GMA” beat NBC’s “Today” (2.382 million), taking the top spot in Total Viewers for the 25th week in a row.GMA” beat NBC’s “Today” by 183,000 Total Viewers, increasing its lead over the NBC program by triple digits both week to week (+976%; vs. 17,000) and year to year (+200%; vs. 61,000).
  • “GMA” improved on the previous week in Total Viewers (+3% – 2.565 million vs. 2.491 million).
  • “GMA” narrowed its margins week to week with “Today” in Adults 25-54 (-31% – 71,000 vs. 103,000) and Adults 18-49 (-51% – 29,000 vs. 59,000).
  • “GMA” slashed its margins with “Today” by more than half versus the same week last year in Adults 25-54 (-53% – 71,000 vs. 150,000) and Adults 18-49 (-70% – 29,000 vs. 98,000).


  • “GMA” (2.565 million, 446,000 and 274,000, respectively) defeated “CBS Mornings” (1.593 million, 309,000 and 209,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+872,000), Adults 25-54 (+137,000) and Adults 18-49 (+65,000), posting its largest overall viewer lead in over 4 months — since w/o 4/7/25. “GMA” led “CBS Mornings” in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 for the last 1,388 weeks overall — since w/o 1/18/99.
