Podcaster Joe Rogan criticized the suspension of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, which followed pressure from the Trump administration, arguing that the government should not control what comedians say and calling conservatives “crazy” for supporting such interference.
Disney’s ABC pulled Kimmel’s show off the air last week due to his remarks about the suspected killer of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The show resumed Tuesday, ending a nearly weeklong dispute that sparked debates over free speech and First Amendment rights.
Rogan, a key supporter of President Donald Trump in the 2024 campaign, said on his podcast, “The government should never dictate what a comedian can say in a monologue.”He warned that if conservatives back such censorship, they’re “crazy” because it could eventually target them.
“If companies are being pressured by the government—and if people on the right are like, ‘yeah, go get ’em’—you’re crazy. This will be used on you,” Rogan said.
