Charges Multiply For Man Accused Of Firing At TV Station

Prosecutors revealed Monday that Anibal Hernandez Santana, a 64-year-old Sacramento man accused of shooting at the ABC10 office in northern California, left handwritten notes criticizing the Trump administration and a calendar reminder to "Do the Next Scary Thing."

He faces federal charges, including possessing and discharging a firearm in a school zone and interfering with a radio communication station, with penalties up to six years in prison and a $260,000 fine. State charges, carrying up to 17 years in prison, are also being filed.

On September 19, Hernandez Santana allegedly fired one shot toward the ABC10 station from a sidewalk in a school zone and three shots into the station’s lobby, where an employee was present but unharmed.

Initially arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied building, and negligent firearm discharge, he was released on bail but rearrested by the FBI hours later.

Authorities found a note in his vehicle referencing Epstein and criticizing FBI Director Kash Patel, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, stating they were “next.” A search of his home revealed the planner note. Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho condemned the attack as an assault on the media and community safety, vowing to ensure accountability.
