Alex Faust To Bob Costas as TNT’s PbP Voice for MLB Playoffs

Alex Faust will replace Bob Costas as the play-by-play announcer for TNT Sports’ MLB postseason games, sources informed The Athletic. Costas retired from MLB play-by-play after covering the New York Yankees-Kansas City Royals’ four-game ALDS last year.

Faust, 36, has experience with TNT Sports, calling NHL games and French Open matches. He also serves as the radio voice for the New York Rangers and broadcasts Friday Night MLB games for Apple TV+.

Brian Anderson remains TNT Sports’ lead MLB play-by-play announcer, working with Ron Darling and Jeff Francoeur for the NLCS. In the NLDS, Anderson is expected to pair with Francoeur, while Darling will team with Faust.

Costas joined TNT Sports in 2020 under then-president Jeff Zucker, often calling the top divisional series despite Anderson’s lead role. With Costas’ retirement, Anderson and Faust are expected to follow a more traditional setup for the top divisional round series.
