Robin MacBlane, a beloved radio host in Ocala, Florida, passed away on Saturday, following a tragic car accident last month, that also claimed the life of her longtime radio partner, Larry "The Giant" Whitler.
The duo, known as "Robin and The Giant," hosted the "AM Ocala Live" morning show on WOCA (1370 AM/96.3 FM) from 2002 until their retirement in early 2020.
MacBlane, aged 70, was severely injured in the crash, which occurred at the intersection of State Road 200 and Southwest 103rd Street Road when their sedan was struck by a pickup truck while making a left turn. Whitler, also 70, died the same day at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital.
MacBlane was hospitalized and later transferred to a physical therapy rehabilitation center, with her family providing updates on her recovery via Facebook. She returned home shortly before her death to continue recovering, but succumbed to her injuries weeks later.
The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
