Albany NY Radio: Pamal Promotes Programmer Kevin Callahan


Kevin Callahan was promoted Monday to Executive Director of Operations and Programming at Pamal Broadcasting. 

In this role, he oversees programming and operations for Pamal’s radio stations across four markets: Albany, Hudson Valley, Glens Falls in New York, and Rutland, Vermont. 

Callahan joined Pamal in November 2022 as Corporate Director of Programming and Operations, marking his third stint with the company.

He previously served as Regional Vice President of Programming from 2003 to 2010 and began his career on-air at Pamal’s CHR station “Fly 92” (WFLY) in Albany.

Before rejoining Pamal in 2022, Callahan spent 12 years with Audacy (Entercom) in San Diego, where he programmed Country 97.3 KSON, Alternative 94.9 KBZT, and AC 96.5 KYXY, and later served as Regional Vice President of Country Programming, overseeing stations in Kansas City, Riverside, Phoenix, Seattle, and Portland. 

His earlier career included roles as Operations Manager for Clear Channel in Colorado Springs (1999–2003) and programming positions in West Palm Beach, Denver, and Omaha.

Pamal’s Chief Operating Officer, Chuck Benfer, praised Callahan’s extensive programming and operational expertise, emphasizing his critical role in delivering high-quality, live, and local programming to the communities Pamal serves. This promotion reflects Callahan’s long-standing experience and leadership in the radio industry, particularly in enhancing Pamal’s commitment to local content.
