Kutler, who started at MSNBC in 2022 after a stint at CNN, spoke to the network’s leadership about the team’s achievements.
She highlighted MSNBC’s 28-year legacy and its recent dominance, pointing out that it ended 2024 as the top cable news outlet on YouTube and TikTok. Before her interim role, she served as senior vice president of content strategy, managing daytime shows, digital platforms, podcasts, films, and live events.
She succeeds Rashida Jones, who left the top job at the start of the year. Jones’s decision to leave comes as the network faces an uncertain future, with Comcast planning to spin off its cable assets, including CNBC, into a new public company named SpinCo. Kutler will take on the challenge of guiding the channel through this shift and its new independent status.
