“We had excellent candidates express interest in the position of Director of Group Programming for Saga,” said Edward K. Christian, Saga president and chief executive officer, who announced the move on Tuesday. “(Chase) already understands the Saga culture, and this will be a seamless transition for him and us. I welcome Scott as a member of our corporate team.”

5 Star Media Group includes Clarksville Now and radio stations Beaver 100.3, Q108, Z97.5, Rewind 94.3, Sunny 99.1, ESPN Clarksville, Outlaw 100.7 and EZ 99.9. 5 Star is part of Saga, which operates radio station groups in 27 cities from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Bellingham, Washington to Ocala, Florida, comprising more than 100 brands.

Chase began his professional radio career in 1986. He has worked as a program director or on-air talent for companies like Clear Channel (now iHeart) and Cumulus in markets like Tampa, Nashville, West Palm Beach and more. He was the public address announcer for Vanderbilt men’s and women’s basketball and a play-by-play announcer, sideline reporter and show host covering Austin Peay State University through the Governor’s Sports Network.

“I love Saga Communications, and I am very excited to make the move to the head office in Grosse Pointe (Michigan). I know there are a lot of talented people out there, and I want to thank Ed Christian and Chris Forgy for putting their confidence in me. We have an incredibly talented pool of general managers, programmers, and air talent, and I can’t wait to work with each and every one of them.”

He will begin his new role officially at the end of September.
