Fitzsimmons will be responsible for overseeing the CheckpointXP Team based in Detroit as well as for driving advertising and sponsorship revenue for BeasleyXP’s growing Esports division.

She most recently helped launch CheckpointXP On Campus, a college-agnostic esports weekly video and podcast show housed out of the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV).

In addition, Fitzsimmons served as the Director of Underwriting and Corporate Sponsorship at KUNV 91.5 Radio, located at the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies in the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs. She also oversaw the School’s first student-staffed and professionally guided digital media agency, Rebel Media Group.

Fitzsimmons brings extensive broadcast media and advertising, having served in leadership roles at iHeart Media and Interep Radio Sales as well as at agencies in Chicago, San Diego and Los Angeles.

“We are so excited to have someone of Leslie’s caliber join the BXP team as we forge into the world of esports and video gaming,” said Beasley Media Group Chief Digital Content Officer Lori Burgess. “Her track record as a marketer and sales leader, combined with her knowledge of esports and ability to connect with the next generation of consumers is precisely what we needed to help us build our new division at BMG!”

“I am excited and honored to take on this role at Beasley Media Group,” said Fitzsimmons. “I have watched with admiration the company’s strategic and innovative approach to the broadcast industry and the success the company has enjoyed as a result. Their commitment to the rapidly growing esports space speaks to the fearless vision of the company leadership that has and will continue to serve as the catalyst for corporate and industry growth for years to come.”
