R.I.P.: Kelly West, Longtime Central-PA Radio Personality

Mid-State PA radio personality Kelly West died Thursday, Aug 15.

She was 67-years-of0age and entertained tens of thousands of radio listeners than two decades.

West was born in Lynchburg, Virginia and moved to Lancaster in 1980 and used the air name, "Kelly West" to make her mark at WLAN 96.9 FM 97. In 1983, she became the first woman to host a morning drive radio program in the Lancaster/York area where she helped anchor a news station, WARM 103.3 FM in.

Known for her sultry voice and good natured personality, West went on to host the program with various co-hosts until 2004. She retiried from full-time radio in 2009.  She worked part-time for WROZ 103.1 FM.
