D-C Radio: ESPN 630 Adds Carol Maloney to Line-Up

Cumulus Media announces that veteran sports reporter and anchor Carol Maloney will join WSBN ESPN 630, the company’s new Sports/Talk station in the nation’s capital, as host of “The Carol Maloney Show”.

The show will air weekdays from 10am to Noon ET, and will feature commentary, guests, listener call-ins, and contributions from ESPN 630’s Andy Pollin. “The Carol Maloney Show” will debut on Tuesday, August 6th at 10am ET.

Maloney has covered sports in Washington, DC, since 2001, working for Comcast SportsNet and NBC Sports Washington, and serving as a beat reporter for all major pro teams in the city. She has traveled the world covering DC sports teams – including London with the Redskins, Toronto with the Capitals, and various cities with the Nationals and Wizards. She also served for several years as the lead sports anchor for NBC’s powerhouse DC station, WRC-TV4.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled and thankful for this opportunity,” said Maloney. “I’ve spent most of my career in the nation’s capital passionately following and covering the sports teams in town. Luckily, I’ve made a lot of friends and contacts along the way and will be calling on all of them. It’ll be ‘Carol & Company’. Can’t wait to get started!!”

Bill Hess, Program Director, Cumulus Washington, DC, said: “I’ve admired Carol’s energy, passion, and journalism since we first worked together a dozen years ago. Her relationships with the players, coaches, reporters, and sports fans in our town are unmatched.”

Maloney continues to serve as a field reporter and show host for MASN – the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network - on Washington Nationals baseball telecasts. She joined former DC sports anchor Dave Feldman in 2007, hosting the pair’s “Feldman & Maloney Show” on WTEM.
