Long Island Radio: Steve Harper Joins JVC's Oldies 98.1 FM


JVC Media has announced the addition of Long Island Radio veteran Steve Harper to JVC and Long Island Events team. He'ls handle afternoons on JVC's W251BY Oldies 98.1 (via WPTY 105.3 FM-HD2).

Harper’s career began at age 17 on Long Island, where he became the youngest afternoon drive announcer in the U-S on WYFA, 1580. From there it was onto WBLI, where he reigned for over two and a half decades, followed by 101.7 The Beach and 92.9 WEHM and mornings for almost a decade at Long Island’s K98.3.

JVC NY General Manager Bruce Shepard said, “Steve is a great addition to our staff”. “He will not only be on the airwaves of JVC he will also work with the team of Long Island Events, the JVC NTR Company to develop new and exciting live events and festivals, I am thrilled to have him on board”.

In addition to his on air duties Steve will also work with the creative team at JVC To develop new digital opportunities at various facilities JVC controls.
