Cincy Radio: WLW's Lisa Wells Facing Several Charges

Lisa Wells
A WLW 700 AM radio personality and Cincinnati defense attorney is facing charges of drug possession and operating a vehicle while impaired, according to official documents.

37-year-old Lisa Wells was charged after she was stopped by an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper on I75 near Piqua, Ohio,  on Jan. 25, documents show.

When WCPO-TV9 asked Wells about the charges by phone Tuesday, she replied: "I am not a public figure and you should not be reporting this." Wells then hung up.

The arresting officer said he found pills on the front seat of Wells' car when he stopped her about 90 miles north of Cincinnati.

"When the driver exited, several pills were observed in plain view on the car's seat ... prescription pills were located during a probable cause search," according to the officer's report.

Wells faces four counts of Felony 5 drug possession, one count of first-degree misdemeanor drug possession, operating a vehicle while impaired and failure to drive in marked lanes.

According to the OSHP report, the trooper responded after the Piqua Post received a report of someone driving erratically.

WLW has not commented.  Wells has been a regular guest and legal analyst on WLW since 2011, according to her bio on her WLW blog. She also serves occasionally as a fill-in host.
